Food As Memory: A Yummy Writing Workshop
Are you hankering to write your family stories, a humorous essay, an ode to a failed souffle, a love-hate relationship with prunes (and your mother)? You’ve come to the write place.
We’ll get our creative juices flowing with the help of irresistible food prompts and delicious literature cooked up by great writers.
We’ll read Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury, A Ticket to the Fair by David Foster Wallace, I Have Pears by Colin Nissan and many other foodcentric stories.
To get started, try one of these prompts and you’ll soon find yourself in a deep dish of apple pie or something even more delectable.
“I don’t know why anyone would complain about life handing you lemons. I love handouts!”
“I ordered three Yukon gold potatoes via Instacart. My shopper brought me three lemons instead.”
